Mark Such a pinnacle of maturity. An album that fully demonstrates the genius and many moods of Hendrix.

Chris A great album. It can be a bit of a slog at times, but overall the songs end up sticking with you and make the entire experience enjoyable.

Kevin “I confess myself…disappointed”. A few tracks here and there are classics to me, and some fine deep cuts too. But I’m just not into 15 minute jams.

Love It or Flush It Legend

L = Love. As many as you like.

F = Flush. Must flush at least one track per album.

B = Buy. Purchased for the ultimate LTS “Best Of” playlist for each of us. One per album.

T = Terminate. Should have never even existed. One per album.

The Rules

Each of us must Love, Flush, Buy, and Terminate AT LEAST ONE track on an album, no matter how great or terrible the album is. Whoever wins the “7 for the Buy” section gets an extra Buy or Terminate to use on the album. Because Chris hosts this section and thus cannot win, he gets an extra Buy or Terminate every 4 albums.

Album Information

Electric Ladyland is the third and final studio album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the final studio album released in Hendrix’s lifetime before his death in 1970. Released by Reprise Records in North America on October 16, 1968, and by Track Records in the UK nine days later, the double album was the only record from the band produced by Hendrix. By mid-November, it had charted at number one in the US, where it spent two weeks at the top spot. Electric Ladyland was the Experience’s most commercially successful release and their only number one album. It peaked at number six in the UK, where it spent 12 weeks on the chart.

Electric Ladyland included a cover of Bob Dylan‘s “All Along the Watchtower“, which became the Experience’s best-selling single, peaking at number six in the UK and 20 in the US. Although the album confounded critics in 1968, it has since been viewed as Hendrix’s best work and one of the greatest rock records of all time. Electric Ladyland has been featured on many greatest-album lists, including Q magazine’s 2003 list of the 100 greatest albums and Rolling Stones 2020 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, on which it was ranked 53rd.
