The Story of Light the Sky Podcast

Light the Sky Podcast was born of an idea given to Mark by his brother Kevin: listen to an entire discography from a band in chronological order through the highs and the lows. Several years later, Mark tried this out with the band Genesis, a band he was always a fan of but never explored outside of the later albums. His discovery of albums and albums of great music (not an easy task at times, in 2020) inspired a long phone discussion with Kevin over the band. This phone call became the inspiration for the Light the Sky Podcast.

Bringing on two more friends, none of whom grew up in this era of music, but all of whom appreciate it, we started tackling discographies song-by-song, album-by-album. With surprises in between, and a whole lot of laughs, bring you the artists that spanned generations and went on around the world to light the sky.

“Music is unique in that it captures moments that are forever preserved on tape. The freshness is palpable. Nothing captures the spirit of an era like the records we cover”
