#SORRYABOUTYOURWIFE The second and third installment from Nick Mason’s flutist wife on a Pink Floyd record, are the LTS boys fans or should these contributions never have happened? Episode 28 covers the fourth Pink Floyd Studio album, 1969’s “Ummagumma.” A half live/half studio album, we will only be covering the STUDIO portion (12 tracks from the CD/streaming track listing) for this episode as we like to only focus on studio albums here at Light the Sky Podcast.

Mark They accomplish what they set out to do. Gilmour and Wright’s contributions are incredible. The other two brought nothing.

Chris Can we get to the PF “Golden Era” now, please?

Alex Not a favorite. Music to Fall Asleep to: Vol 1.

Love It or Flush It Legend

L = Love. As many as you like.

F = Flush. Must flush at least one track per album.

B = Buy. Purchased for the ultimate LTS “Best Of” playlist for each of us. One per album.

T = Terminate. Should have never even existed. One per album.

The Rules

Each of us must Love, Flush, Buy, and Terminate AT LEAST ONE track on an album, no matter how great or terrible the album is. Whoever wins the “7 for the Buy” section gets an extra Buy or Terminate to use on the album. Because Chris hosts this section and thus cannot win, he gets an extra Buy or Terminate every 4 albums.

Album Information

Ummagumma is the fourth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd. It is a double album and was released on 7 November 1969 by Harvest Records.[4] The first disc consists of live recordings from concerts at Mothers Club in Birmingham and the College of Commerce in Manchester that contained part of their normal set list of the time, while the second contains solo compositions by each member of the band recorded at Abbey Road Studios.[5][6] The artwork was designed by regular Floyd collaborators Hipgnosis and features a number of pictures of the band combined to give a Droste effect. It was the last album cover to feature the band.

Although the album was well received at the time of release, and was a top five hit in the UK album charts, it has since been looked upon unfavourably by the band, who have expressed negative opinions about it in interviews. Nevertheless, the album has been reissued on CD several times, along with the rest of their catalogue.
