Quick Reviews
Mark Open to the early 80s synth sound, and appreciate the break that the band has given us at this point. Still a solid, underappreciated record.
Chris Probably their most self-indulgent album. Cool musical ideas but they just don’t sound like Queen. Failed to connect in the first half.
Alex Def an album that Freddie can sell and really represents him and his lifestyle at the time (I back it.) Enjoy side B more than A.
Kevin I like the new direction. Top half might be stronger than the second half personally, but nice musical moments throughout, as well as some head-scratching decisions here and there.

Love It or Flush It Legend
L = Love. As many as you like.
F = Flush. Must flush at least one track per album.
B = Buy. Purchased for the ultimate LTS “Best Of” playlist for each of us. One per album.
T = Terminate. Should have never even existed. One per album.
The Rules
Each of us must Love, Flush, Buy, and Terminate AT LEAST ONE track on an album, no matter how great or terrible the album is. Whoever wins the “7 for the Buy” section gets an extra Buy or Terminate to use on the album. Because Chris hosts this section and thus cannot win, he gets an extra Buy or Terminate every 4 albums.
Album Information
Hot Space is the tenth studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 21 May 1982 by EMI Records in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US. Marking a notable shift in direction from their earlier work, they employed many elements of disco, funk, rhythm and blues, dance and pop music on the album.[3][1] This made the album less popular with fans who preferred the traditional rock style they had come to associate with the band.[3] Queen’s decision to record a dance-oriented album germinated with the massive success of their 1980 hit “Another One Bites the Dust” in both the UK and US.[1]
“Under Pressure“, Queen’s collaboration with David Bowie, was released in 1981 and became the band’s second number one hit in the UK.[4] Although included on Hot Space, the song was a separate project and was recorded ahead of the album, before the controversy over Queen’s new disco-influenced rock sound.[5] The album’s second single, “Body Language“, peaked at number 11 on the US charts, and estimated sales of the album stand at 3.5 million copies. In July 2004, Q magazine listed Hot Space as one of the top fifteen albums “where great rock acts lost the plot”.[6]
