Episode 66 covers a special bonus episode topic selected by our co-host Alex. Moving slightly away from the musician/performance/songwriting tip, Alex wanted to get our host's takes on 5 of their most favorite albums from a "production" and/or "sonic quality/audiophile" standpoint. Perhaps giving more of a focus on the recording engineer, the producer, mixing and mastering engineers of the world on this episode, Alex approached this as "What are 5 albums you'd use to break in your new stereo?" While Mark and Chris approached it less from a sonic perfection standpoint and more of a "using the studio as an instrument" or "the most unique recording" techniques, Alex and Kevin approached it more on our most favorite mixed/mastered audiophile-grade albums. WARNING, we do get a bit nerdy on this episode but we wanted to engage our potential fellow audiophile listeners. Tune in next week for Episode 67 where we cover the debut album of our next full band discography, a little old grunge band from the Pacific Northwest.

Episode 65 covers some discussion questions that Kevin brought to the table for a special bonus episode. Wanting to recreate the discussions of when the Light the Sky group meets up in person, Kevin picked some (possibly contentious) questions sure to spark discussion and maybe a few arguments. Mark, Kevin, Alex, and Chris sit with you to discuss the current state of rock music, music in general, punk attitudes, what the youth might be into, and everything in between. After a slight break in action, we are pleased to announce that we are back with a special bonus episode (topic chose by our Producer Mark) before we begin our next band full-studio album discography next week. Bonus Episode #6 covers the topic of "Songs that Get the Blood Going" according to our hosts. This is not a "definitive" list of the most heart throbbing, adrenaline induced tunes out there. It is simply a "unique" selection of the Top 5 songs that each of our hosts decided on over the weeks leading up to the show. The criteria was this... each of us selected 10 songs that fit the criteria and then shared them so we could all listen in preparation. The only catch was, you didn't know which 5 made the cut until we were live on air. At that point, each member sold their spiel on why they picked these 5 before we each Loved, Flushed, Bought, Nudged, or Terminated each selection resulting in a consensual Top 5 list out of all of our 40 picks. Taking a slight break from our full Queen studio discography journey, for Bonus Episode #5 we've decided to do something special. It's co-host Chris' turn to come up with the bonus episode topic and he's decided on... "5 Favorite Guitar Solos."

Taking a slight break from Queen (don't worry, Episode 47 covering News of the World is coming soon) we've decided to have our 4th bonus episode covering a one-off special album brought forth by one of our hosts. For bonus episode 4, co-host Chris has brought the second album from British synthwave/retrowave group GUNSHIP, 2018's Dark All Day. Mark, Kevin, Alex, and Chris take you on a journey surrounding the album as well as share our favorites and not-so favorites from the record. We go on a deep dive track-by-track listen of GUNSHIP's second record and learn of the passion Chris has for this record.

Now that we've wrapped up our full Pink Floyd studio album discography it's time for our third bonus episode so bust out that AquaNet and strap on your pink Jackson V because the Boyz are Gonna Rock! Bonus episode #3 covers the self titled debut album by Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Mark, Kevin, Alex, and Chris take you on a historical journey surrounding the album as well as share our favorites and not-so favorites from the record. We go on a deep dive track-by-track listen of this hair metal heavyweight as well as share personal stories of discovering the Vinnie Vincent Invasion debut self titled album, reading Bobby Rock's book, and for an added bonus... a live dissection/reaction of the full "Boyz are Gonna Rock" music video.

Now that our full Metallica studio album discography block has concluded, it's time for our second bonus one-off-album episode. Our co-host Alex has chosen one of his top three albums of all time, the 1999 album "Ignorance is Bliss" by So-Cal punk rockers Face to Face, to bring to the table. Can he convince the rest of the group on the greatness of this slept-on, controversial album in Face to Face's catalog? A departure from the normal punk rock/skate-punk style of Face to Face, the band decided to take a chance with "Ignorance is Bliss" to break from the norm and make a dark, layered, atmospheric and orchestrated rock record that diversified the fanbase at the time. Some fans recognize the absolute genius of this record and consider it a masterpiece while others...? Not so much. Where do you stand?

Since we're in between seasons/full discographies, we decided to pick a one-off album that we won't be covering later in this special bonus episode. Bonus Episode #1 picked by our very own co-host Kevin Nadolski covers The Night Game's (Martin Johnson, formerly of Boys Like Girls) 2018 debut record. Mark, Kevin, Alex, and Chris dissect this album and share our favorites and not-so favorites from this fantastic debut 80s-infused sythnpop album from 2018. We'll have more bonus episodes to come in the future but enjoy this one-off episode before we start the Metallica full discography next week! P.S.
