Taking a slight break from Queen (don’t worry, Episode 47 covering News of the World is coming soon) we’ve decided to have our 4th bonus episode covering a one-off special album brought forth by one of our hosts. For bonus episode 4, co-host Chris has brought the second album from British synthwave/retrowave group GUNSHIP, 2018’s Dark All Day. Mark, Kevin, Alex, and Chris take you on a journey surrounding the album as well as share our favorites and not-so favorites from the record. We go on a deep dive track-by-track listen of GUNSHIP’s second record and learn of the passion Chris has for this record.

Quick Reviews
Mark Tough to evaluate in the modern era and a genre that’s focused on playlists. Why don’t I just listen to the strong songs? A lot of meat on these tracks. Don’t like the video game/outrun feeling.
Chris One of the better, consistent bands out there right now. Refreshing to see someone combining these influences so well.
Alex Everything sounded kinda the same. Not the biggest fan of this video-gamey/80s new retro/synth-wave thing. Kinda like The Midnight but that’s about it cuz it’s just a bit cheesy to me. Much prefer the real thing/more authentic tones/visuals vs. a modern dystopian try at it.
Kevin More depth here than your average synthwave band for sure. However, it suffers a bit from Long Album Syndrome.

Love It or Flush It Legend
L = Love. As many as you like.
F = Flush. Must flush at least one track per album.
B = Buy. Purchased for the ultimate LTS “Best Of” playlist for each of us. One per album.
T = Terminate. Should have never even existed. One per album.
The Rules
Each of us must Love, Flush, Buy, and Terminate AT LEAST ONE track on an album, no matter how great or terrible the album is. Whoever wins the “7 for the Buy” section gets an extra Buy or Terminate to use on the album. Because Chris hosts this section and thus cannot win, he gets an extra Buy or Terminate every 4 albums.
Album Information
The second album by synthwave band GUNSHIP, released in 2018.
Corrections…they are a three piece band . One of the Alexs there are two lol is the drummer, though they do lots of programming too . The other Alex ( the vocalist ) has done guest vocals on a few other “ Synthwave” bands so that might be the familiar ring from others you heard . NIN and deftones both have I’d say equal influence in there btw , I’m surprised no one picked up on that . Dan the main composer and the two Alex’s where all from a hard rock / nu metal? Bang called Fight Star previously. I do believe they seen this as a “ project “ rather than a “ band “( as they are owner operators of a graphics and video production house) until after this record came out as they. Where gearing up to tour it prior to COVID .m
